This program has been sunset. Below is an archive of what FAST TRACK accomplished.
FAST TRACK was a tech workforce development program that took Black women and those under the poverty line from techie-in-training to employed junior technologists in one year or less. The program provided education, dedicated mentors, resume assistance, and internship placements.
Google partnered with us to give our students scholarships to their online courses. They had training in Android Engineering, UX/UI Design, and Data Analysis. The Google Career Certificate program helped students get on the fast track to a competitively paid job in a high-growth field, without needing relevant experience or a degree.
The program targeted Black women and those under the poverty line. Understanding the financial barriers that come with committing time to learning, FAST TRACK was an earn-to-learn program where students earned $1,000 for every course milestone they achieved ($6,000 total).
Recognizing that not everyone has access to a computer or phone, every student in the program received a new MacBook and iPhone.
Data shows that only 5% of people finish their online courses. When you get stuck, searching online can only take you so far. You need a real live person who's been there and can guide you to the next step. Every FAST TRACK participant received a dedicated mentor employed in their field of study at reputable tech companies.
A fast track into the industry isn't complete without on-the-job training. We partnered with Shopify to provide internships to our students in data, design, and development. Their internships were full-time and well paid, with a high chance of being hired upon strong performance.
We also partnered with CareerCircle to provide all students with resume assistance and interview connections at top tech companies.
